INFORMATION ON CLIMATE CHANGE |
|
|
|
There is a lot in the media about climate change and it helps to be able to discern the credible sources from uninformed opinion. As the examples below show what may at first seem credible could turn out to something quite different.
- Scientists have been offered money to dispute climate change. Full story
- The Bush administration in the United States was accused of doctoring scientists' reports on climate change Full story
- Climate scientist 'duped to deny global warming'. Full story
When reviewing information some questions to ask yourself are;
- Is the author qualified in the field?
- Is this information from an independent body?
- Has the information been peer-reviewed?
- Has it been published in a science journal?
Peer review involves another, completely independent, researcher with experience in that area reviewing the information for accuracy and is an important step in progressing it towards publication in a recognised science journal. Standards of accuracy in a quality science journal are much higher than those of an opinionated newspaper editor in a rush to fill up space before the deadline. Under the 'Info' menu heading you can find links to some researched information on climate change. Below are some general links for information.
